Manual - Printing it off

I then printed of my manual onto a hard form of paper so it would hold its from.

Manual - Completed on Photoshop

Manual - Starting to develop manual on Photoshop

After scanning in my drawings, I worked with them on photoshop. This allowed me to open a template for my manual and place the individual drawings i created onto it. I placed them in the places i thought most suitable, changing the size and opacity of some of the images.

I then started adding text to my manual.

On some pages I added colour to make it more appealing. I did this by using the pen tool then drawing over the image i wanted to add colour to. Then i used 'fill' to choose the colour i wanted, changing the opacity on some to not make it overtake the rest of the manual. I set them behind the actual image so it didn't make it fade or soft.

I then added relevant text to the manual relating to cameras.

I kept the colour scheme linking to one base colour, blue. This gave it a more even approach but helped define the different pages.

Manual - Original scanned in drawings on Photoshop

When i scanned in my pages i placed them in Photoshop to change the orientation, colour and threshold. By changing the colour to black and white it made separating the page and drawing more simple. I just changed the threshold of the images so i could select the image from the page using the pen tool.

Manual - Scanning in drawings

I used an A4 scanner to capture my drawings and place them onto my computer. I scanned in all my pages which then came up as images. This would allow me to later edit the pages in Photoshop.

Manual - Drawings I Did

In my sketch book i drew images to help me make my manual more appealing, using different methods to try and make the drawings more interesting. I tried to link then to a camera theme.

I first drew important icons a camera user should know about. I drew them in fine liner so when scanned in the images would show up nicely.

I used a single line method to get a rough drawing, where i never lifted my pen from the paper. This gave it a nice loose look, i did a couple of these types of drawings.

Then i set a time limit to my drawings so they go less detailed as the time limit got smaller. This helped create a variety of different drawings of the same camera.

I then decided to write some ideas for the name of the manual in different font types. This would allow me to have a selection when i scanned them in incase i changed my idea.

I then did a neat version of the camera in pencil, then went over in fine liner.
